In the co-main event, Mexican Olympian Misael Rodriguez showed what pedigree is all about when he stepped in the ring against the “Native Nightmare”- Austin Deanda, who had no amateur experience. Rodriguez did as he pleased, walking, Deanda down and landing a variety of well-placed hard shots. After the fourth round, Deanda complained of double vision. A short conference between referee Thomas Taylor and the ringside physician resulted in a stoppage between rounds, leading to Rodriguez raising his record to 16-0, KOs.
Deanda loses his first at 17-1, 8 KOs.

In an all-action war, Julian “Hammer Hands” Rodriguez had to rely on ring movement and defense, as well as his punching power to overcome a relentless “Sugar” Cain Sandoval in a 10-round war. Rodriguez landed plenty of tremendous punches, but could barely dent the iron chinned Sandoval. For his part, Sandoval kept the pressure on but was simply outgunned throughout. The judges saw it fairly one-sided at 99-91 x 2 98-92 all for Rodriguez who moves to 25-1, 15 KOs. Sandoval drops his first at 17-1, 15 KOs.
