Fellsmere police stop runaway car

28-year-old Joseph Cooper filled with panic when his gas pedal got stuck on I-95.

He called 911 when he was in Martin County, at mile marker 101 but didn't stop until he was at the northern tip of Indian River County, around mile marker 153.

The first words to the 911 dispatcher, "I believe my gas pedal is stuck in my car and I'm on I-95."

Cooper was barreling through the treasure coast at 100 miles per hour. "Get out the way," Cooper screams on the phone.

Dispatchers told him to put the car in neutral, try the emergency brake and even try adjusting cruise control.
