3 top Syrian Army Tiger Forces commanders survive assassination in Tartus city

According to pro-government sources, a militantsleeper agent belonging to an unknown faction carried out an assassinationattack on three high-ranking commanders belonging to the Syrian Arab Army'selite Tiger Forces Division whilst they were on leave in Tartus city lastnight.

Reports state that Tiger Forces commanders cameunder grenade attack in Tartus on either late Wednesday afternoon or very earlyThursday morning whilst traveling in the same car.

Whilst it can be confirmed that none of theSyrian Army commanders were killed, it is not clear if any were injured and, ifso, to what degree.

Reports hint that there was only perpetratorinvolved in the attack. The allegiance of the attacker is unknown.

The three Commanders were all on service breakin Tartus following a successful operation against armed groups and ISIS innorthwest Syria.
