Pictures: ISIS strikes Syrian Army supply lines amid new assault near key city in Deir Ezzor
Recently, an ISIS raiding party attacked SyrianArmy positions near the city of Abu Kamal in the eastern province of DeirEzzor.
The terrorist assault group appears to haveadvanced out of a large desert region - still yet to be cleared by the SyrianArmy - to the west of Abu Kamal and targeted government supply lines near thecity.
Using medium and heavy machine guns as well asshoulder-fired rocket launchers (RPGs), Islamic State militants struck severalpassing vehicles - one of them a van with a trailer - all of which burst intoflames and smoke.
At the present time it is unclear whether ornot the targeted vehicles were linked to military logistical duties or justbelonged to passing civilians.
