On a trip to India, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani has vowed to comply with his country's commitments to the 2015 international nuclear deal.
The accord was also signed by the US, UK, France, Germany, Russia and China.
Businessman-turned-US President Donald Trump has been pushing for changes. But Rouhani said to haggle after signing "is ridiculous".
"Now the person who is in fact a businessman and has haggled for his whole business life, they think the world of politics and business are similar . If the U.S. violates this agreement - I don't want to speak empty words, I just... I say here for the record, you will see that America will regret its decision. They won't even hesitate, don't have any doubts, not only the U.S. administration but also the U.S. people", he said.
Rouhani added that Iran had always respected contract deals as long as other parties also adhered to them.
His three-day visit to India aims to boost bilateral ties and collaboration in economic development.
