An adult humpback whale got playful with tourists in Maui, Hawaii, in February, according to a whale tour company that captured the moment on camera.The whale slapped its tail to boaters’ delight, according to Toni Colombo, who operates Ultimate Whale Watch and Snorkel in Lahaina, West Maui. The company told Storyful that it regularly checked on of injured or entangled whales as a commercial member of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Maui Disentanglement Network.Humpback whales are protected in Maui.
