Old School...Campfire Guitar...Good times
This is the guitar that my father played for years. He brought it along on every camping trip we ever went on. Played and sang around the campfire.
A 1943 Gibson Southern Jumbo. Banner series guitar. Manufactured during WWII... Gibson stopped putting steel adjustable truss rods in the necks to save steel for the war effort. As a result, banner series guitars have very thick maple necks. I imagine during that time that women were employed by Gibson since most of the men were off to fight the war. This guitar has huge a character to go along with it's bright booming sound.
