Trump ousts Tillerson as secretary of state, CIA director Pompeo to take post

US President Donald Trump has unceremoniously ousted Secretary of State Rex Tillerson from his post, replacing him with CIA Director Mike Pompeo.

The move was announced on Trump's Twitter account on Tuesday.

Tillerson was in Africa for a week-long tour to five countries. His trip was unexpectedly cut one day short on Monday to return to Washington Tuesday.
