Brooksville drug deal turned into shootout
A drug deal gone south in Brooksville turned into numerous shots fired and a man losing his life.
It started in January when Anthony Borzell asked his co-worker at Arland Car Wash if he could set up a drug transaction.
The meeting was set up for Borzell to meet with De'Aundre Roberts and Napoleon Mason.
On Jan. 23, Borzell arrived at Coney Island Restaurant and backed into a dark area. Mason and Roberts arrived shortly after, and Borzell got in the passenger side front seat.
Borzell wanted to sell 3 lbs. of marijuana for $8,000, but police believe Roberts and Mason wanted to rob him.
As the transaction turned into a robbery, police say an altercation began in the vehicle. Both sides were armed with handguns.
Borzell got out of the car, pulled his 9mm from his front pocket and opened fire, hitting the vehicle 11 times.
