Runaway swan leaves motorists in a flap during dramatic rescue

A runaway wild swan sparked a dramatic rescue operation on Thursday in Russia's Kaliningrad after it got stuck on a motorway, footage released by Kaliningrad's office of Ministry of Internal Affairs shows.

Woman (Russian): "We were driving along the trestle bridge and saw a swan. We decided to protect him from a potential injury. Now we are waiting for the special services' arrival in order to help our feathered friend out."

Woman tending to the swan (Russian): "Huge thanks to all those who were here. Basically, those have saved the bird's life."
