Tim Broomhead breaks his leg during AFL game
A day of carnage at the Melbourne Cricket Ground has left two star AFL players with devastating, season ending injuries.
The leg of Collingwood midfielder Tim Broomhead was snapped in two on Saturday afternoon after his leg collided with a goal post.
Minutes later, his Greater Western Sydney Giants opponent Tom Scully was also stretchered from the field after suffering a suspected broken ankle.
Broomhead was left screaming and in tears after he awkwardly collided with the post, following a push from Giants hard man Heath Shaw.
The 24-year-old attempted to soccer through a goal using his left leg when it collided, just below the knee, with the goal post.
Footage shows the impact snapped his leg, as it bent backwards at the shin, leaving some of his teammates distraught.
