Ship collides into 300-yo historical mansion in Istanbul's Bosphorus

The "Vitaspirit" tanker has crashed into the Hekimbasi Mansion, located on the shores of the Strait of Bosphorus in Istanbul, Turkey.

The mansion, built in 1697 by the Ottoman grand vizier Koprulu Amcazade Pasha, valued $85M, was bought by Hekimbasi Salih Efendi in 1816 and is one of the very few wooden mansions still in the original family's ownership. Meticulously painted in the proper ox-blood red paint, nothing has been done to embroider it. The Hekimbasi family keeps the mansion in immaculate condition by allowing wedding functions and the like in the garden.
