Hungary: Professor says Orban is on track for election victory
Jaroslaw Kaczy'nski, considered by many to be the de facto ruler of Poland, gave his backing to Mr Orban's campaign ahead of election day on Sunday April 8.
The conservative leader arrived in Budapest on Friday to unveil a monument dedicated to the 2010 Smolensk plane crash which claimed the life of 96 Polish dignitaries, including his twin brother President Lech Kaczy'nski.
Addressing the gathered crowds, Mr Kaczy'nski stressed the importance of Polish-Hungarian relations, urging Hungary to chose the "path towards freedom" by voting for Mr Orban today.
He said: "The freedom, sovereignty and dignity of this nation are all bound to the name of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
"If I am allowed, if I dare, I would tell not only those of you gathered here today but also the people of Hungary, that in two days you will be deciding about your path towards freedom."
In his speech, the leader of PiS outlined his vision for a grander and more unified Europe. It entailed a European Union built on strong independent nations cooperating towards a common goal.
He thanked Mr Orban for striving towards this shared interest in unifying the continent.
Mr Kaczy'nski said: "You cannot think about the future of Europe, if you do not remember Hungary, Viktor Orban, Fidesz.
