President Donald Trump has suggested in a tweet that China would ease trade barriers "because it is the right thing to do". He wrote on Twitter that "Taxes will become Reciprocal, and a deal will be made on Intellectual Property. Great future for both countries!" The tweet did not explain why Trump was optimistic about resolving the escalating trade clash between the world's two largest economies. But Trump said he and Chinese President Xi Jinping would "always be friends, no matter what happens with our dispute on trade".
