Liberal left dealt blow by Orban
Prime Minister Orban triumphed in the polls on Sunday, securing a landslide victory for himself and his Fidesz - Hungarian Civic Alliance party.
The Hungarian National Election Office revealed Fidesz will return to the 199-member National Assembly wth a whopping 133 seats - a 66.83 percent majority.
The closest any other party came to securing a foothold in Parliament was rival right wing party Jobbik with only 26 seats or 13.07 percent of the assembly.
Jobbik chairman Gabor Vona immediately tendered his resignation following the crushing defeat.
