Elephants spray tourists with water to start Thai New Year

Thailand kicked off its New Year celebrations today (April 11) with painted elephants spraying water over tourists.

The animals were decorated with colourful flowers and patterns to entertain holidaymakers and locals gathered at the Ayutthaya Palace near capital Bangkok this afternoon.
