Dramatic video shows explosion of river ice to prevent flooding

Ice on northern China's Amur River was blown up to prevent flooding as the weather got warmer on April 8.

The dramatic clip, shot in Mohe County in Heilongjiang Province, shows workers digging holes in the frozen river and putting explosives into them.

Then a worker counts down to blow up the ice, sending the water to about 100-meters high.
