Icelandic Tourist Escapes the Thai Law (Pattaya)
Icelandic man in his twenties escaped 20-30 years of hard labor in Thailand last week.
He had been drunk and stubborn and gone to a shop in Pattaya and asked for beer. They refused to sell him alcohol that time of night. So he pepper sprayed the clerks and stole a bottle of champagne and a pack of cigarettes. Later on he was apprehended by Thai police. he was put in prison. He was about to get 20 - 30 years prison in Thailand. For 2 weeks he slept on the floor with 30 other inmates. He was attacked by gangs and a bunch of Thai men because hes is white. Luckily two of his mates bailed him out and gout in contact to a expert in escaping. He managed to bribe the police and border customs officers and fled to a nearby country where he took a plane to mainland Europe and then to Iceland. He is free now, but it cost him 2 million Icelandic Krona. About 20.000 USD.
