Man beaten, robbed by group in downtown Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) -

Police are investigating after a man said he was beaten and robbed by a group of men late Wednesday in downtown Little Rock.

Ken Griffith, 54, told police he was walking in MacArthur Park at 601 E. 9th St. when a man approached him and asked for money about 11:30 p.m., according to a police . After Griffith told the man he only had a debit car, the man attacked him, according to the . Griffith said that five other men soon joined the fight and started kicking and punching him. The men took Griffith's cellphone and wallet, then left the area.

Griffith walked to the River Market for help after the attack, the says. Police said he had cuts and bruises on his head and legs. Medical personnel treated him at the scene.

Police searched the area but made no arrests.
