A Chicago Police Department District Commander, Paul Bauer, of the 18th District, was shot and killed this afternoon at the Thompson Center, a government building, while attempting to detain an armed man that other officers were chasing. Sounds like the commander was in the area and the suspect being chased ran towards him so he went to work. Bauer reportedly was shot twice in the head and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. A U.S. decision to continue funding the Syrian Kurdish YPG militia will affect Turkey's future moves, President Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday ahead of a visit this week by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. The NYPD have released this footage of a shooting that took place Friday night in Brooklyn in front of the Fifth Unisex Salon on Claredon Road. The victim was treated at the hospital for the gunshot wound and later released.According to police, the gunman is described as a Black male, approximately 30-years-old, 5'9' tall, 220 pounds, with a stocky build, medium complexion, black hair, brown eyes and a goatee. After they turned him away, he fired at the upper apartment windows above the pub and led the police on a high speed chase before crashing. He told police he had drank 8 pints of strong cider and 16 shots of brandy. He plead guilty and has been sentenced to 9 years in prison.
