[Women's Tennis] St. Ambrose opens CCAC play with 7-2 win at St. Francis

Just back from an annual Spring Break trip to Florida, St. Ambrose opened the conference portion of its schedule with a 7-2 CCAC win at St. Francis Saturday afternoon.

The Bees got off to a fast start by claiming all three doubles matches. The No. 1 team of Alex Horton and Meg Chadick won 8-2 and the No. 2 team of Elizabeth Bush and Shannon McEachern earned an 8-5 win. Emma Lang and Kiersten Housenga won by default at No. 3 doubles.

Chadick and Horton also each won a singles match in straight sets. Chadick won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Horton prevailed 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3. Bush and McEachern won by default at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.

SAU will next host Judson on Tuesday at the Quad City Tennis Club in Moline, Ill. The match is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.
