Sheriff's deputy pleads no contest to records tampering

CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) — A former deputy with a sheriff's office in eastern New Mexico has pleaded no contest to tampering with public records. The Eastern New Mexico News reports the charge against 31-year-old Brandon Nolen will be dismissed if he completes 18 months of supervised probation. The former deputy with the Curry County Sheriff's Office was arrested in June, and he also was charged with perjury and possession of a controlled substance. Liberia court says presidential runoff vote can go ahead

MONROVIA, Liberia (AP) — Liberia's supreme court has cleared the way for the presidential runoff election to go forward, saying there was not enough evidence to support allegations of fraud. The second-round vote between soccer star George Weah and Vice President Joseph Boakai had been put on hold after the Liberty Party alleged first-round voting irregularities. Alzheimer's cases are about to skyrocket

An estimated 15 million Americans will have clinical Alzheimer's disease or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) by 2060, a concerning new study published Thursday found. The estimates mean that cases of Alzheimer's and MCI will more than double in four decades, as just 6 million cases have been recorded in 2017, HealthDay News reports.
