Oklahoma panel approves merger of college governing boards

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A higher education task force has approved a plan to move seven of Oklahoma's community colleges under the authority of larger governing boards. The Oklahoman reports that the recommendation was approved Wednesday by the state's 60-member task force on the future of higher education. The proposal will be presented to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education as early as February. Man acquitted of rape guilty of threatening prosecutor

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — A Montana man who was acquitted of rape has pleaded guilty to threatening to kill the prosecutor and the detective involved. The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports 35-year-old Jared Kuntz of Bozeman pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of intimidation in an agreement that recommends a five-year sentence with the Department of Corrections.
