Al Iaquinta with a chance to steal the show at UFC 223, become the ‘recognized’ champion

mmafighting.com

We’ve seen real-time human shufflings on UFC cards before, those situations where at the last minute a perennial undercardsman ends up in a main event. A classic example was when Charlie Brenneman stood in against Rick Story in Pittsburgh on just 24 hour’s notice after Nate Marquardt was removed from the card, and ended up winning. Joe Soto got bumped into a bantamweight title fight with TJ Dillashaw at UFC 177 when Renan Barao went down for the count during his weight cut. He couldn’t make the most of the promotion... You should believe in the A’s offensive outbreak

Athletics Nation

The A’s should be a good offensive team in 2018.

Friday’s game was probably the most miserable fairly non-consequential regular season game in recent memory. Teams lose in April and by and large it doesn’t mean a whole lot but boy. Losing a game in which you hit five home runs is....not good. Let’s focus on the good.

The top cause for optimism going into 2018 was the A’s offense in the second half of 2017. Matt Chapman and Matt Olson joined a lineup bolstered by Khris Davis and... Читать дальше...

Eating meat creates a 'dead zone' the size of New Jersey in the Gulf of Mexico every year

BusinessInsider.com

  • Eating meat contributes to an ongoing ecological disaster in the Gulf Mexico, where sea life gets suffocated in a '"dead zone" the size of New Jersey.
  • Nutrient pollution from intensive agriculture washes into the Gulf of Mexico via the Mississippi River, causing phytoplankton blooms. As the phytoplankton decomposes, huge portions of the Gulf get starved of oxygen.
  • Beyond killing sea life, the Gulf of Mexico dead zone has disastrous ramifications for the area's economic engine ... Читать дальше...
