Lakhimpur-Kheri violence: SC dissolves SIT, relieves retired HC judge

The Supreme Court has dissolved the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and relieved retired High Court judge Justice Rakesh Kumar Jain from monitoring the probe into the Lakhimpur-Kheri violence. The court stated that the trial is already underway and there is no further need for the SIT's involvement. However, the court clarified that it can reconstitute the SIT if necessary in the future.
