Canadian salmon harvests hit a new low

Government-mandated closures in British Columbia have been blamed for Canada’s farm-raised salmon production falling from a peak of 148,000 tonnes in 2016 to 90,000 tonnes in 2023 – the lowest number since the turn of the century.
