A local court awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment to one Ramesh Tuddu of Sadam under Jaridih Block on Wednesday for raping his colleague for six months, after promising to marry her. When the victim asked him to fulfil his commitment, Tuddu thrashed her and burnt her alive. The 26-year-old woman succumbed to burn injuries after battling for her life for almost two months in a government hospital.
