Connecticut commuters get temporary relief from construction

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced Thursday that all construction and paving on state roads and highways will be suspended over the long holiday weekend to help ease traffic congestion. The Department of Transportation is on pace to resurface 340 miles of two-lane state roadways this construction season, which typically runs from April 1 through Nov. 30.
