The driver of a Honda Odyssey struck a tree and was killed on a westbound Interstate 580 connector ramp in Oakland early Saturday, officials said. The crash occurred on the connector ramp from westbound Interstate 580 to northbound State Route 13, the California Highway Patrol said. Officers responded shortly after 2 a.m. and found the minivan “against a tree with impact damage directly to the driver’s door,” according to the agency’s statement on the accident.
