I'm pretty sure my partner and I are hoarders, or least well on our way. We have one entire room in our house that's too full of clutter to walk through — a library of junk. It's not like we can spare the space. We live with our 3-year-old and two dogs in a 1,200-square-foot house, but it feels much smaller. The junk room door is always closed. My daughter doesn't even know we have a third bedroom.

Anadarko pulls offer for Apache Corp.

HOUSTON, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Anadarko Petroleum Corp. confirmed Wednesday it made an all-stock non-binding offer to acquire rival company Apache Corp. but later withdrew the bid.



Singles’ Day Sales Surpassed Last Year’s $9.3 Billion, According to Alibaba

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holdings Ltd said on Wednesday the value of merchandise it has sold so far during the Singles’ Day online shopping extravaganza had surpassed last year’s total of $9.3 billion (6 billion pounds). The company, which six years ago turned Nov. 11 into China’s equivalent of U.S. shopping event Cyber Monday, could see this year’s sales rise to as much as $13.8 billion, a growth of almost 50 percent from last year’s total, according to research firm IDC.
