Riding the Zero DSR electric motorcycle takes a little get used to — but it pays off

BusinessInsider.com

RideApart

Zero's new dual sport DSR model— an upgraded version of the Zero DS designed to be at home on pavement and dirt roads — brings 56% more torque and 25% more horsepower to the party.

Electric motorcycles are a relatively new thing, and most motorcyclists have never ridden one before.

It's a very different experience that takes some getting used to, especially when it comes to changing long-ingrained habits. Scooter riders, maybe not so much.

As I twist the right grip, the silence is deafening. Читать дальше...

Donald Trump Opponents' Path To Victory Is Dark And Full Of Terrors

The Huffington Post

Let's be honest. If the Republican front-runner was anyone other than calloused anger-pillow Donald Trump -- if it were a bog-standard Republican senator or governor, or anyone else in the field, frankly -- there wouldn't be much resistance to the idea that the party's nomination was locked up. Based on the states won, the delegates claimed and polls suggesting where the future is headed, we'd all think it was looney-tunes that there was a gaggle of other competitors thinking they still have a shot. Inside the Arizona Biltmore

The Huffington Post

Phoenix doesn't rise from the ashes of itself, but from a sun-drenched desert that draws visitors from around the globe for its warm winter days and sultry nights. It rose also from the imagination of people who visualized a city where people could live year-around in the shadows of the rugged mountains surrounding it. Savvy marketers branded it "The Valley of the Sun" in the 1930s and the label sticks today.

Even before the Valley of the Sun became a mecca for people fleeing the snows of the north, Phoenix drew a well-heeled set. Читать дальше...

3 Things You Can Do Immediately to Improve Your Social Media Presence

The Huffington Post

I talk to business owners and executives every day and realize that businesses of all sizes share one important thing: They all read the same social media advice. There is no shortage of social media advice available for businesses and executives today, yet many businesses still struggle to get results.

Let's forget the deluge of advice for now. It can be incredibly overwhelming and technical if you're not a marketer (and let's face it, most people aren't). Instead, let's focus on three... Читать дальше...

It's Time to Reveal the Secrets We've Been Keeping About Work-Life Balance

The Huffington Post

co-authored by Allison Vaillancourt

When former Secretary of State Madeline Albright recently said, "there's a special place in hell for women who don't help each other," we turned to each other and wondered if we would eventually have to argue about who would get the window seat as we made our descent to the netherworld.

We weren't concerned about our political choices but rather about the more practical ways that we can but haven't helped other women enough. Each of us has managed... Читать дальше...

The Huffington Post

Co-authored by Haykaram Nahapetyan

The Syrian refugee crisis has been the subject of widespread debate around the world and in particular in Europe. While European countries agree on promoting European principles and values, the level of solidary action diverges drastically from country to country, and the subject is often transformed into cold questions of refugee quotas and political bargains.

In the meantime, unbeknownst to many, Armenia, a country of the size of the state of Maryland... Читать дальше...

«Indiewire»

“I got a call from my agent and he said, ‘Do you know Terrence Malick?’ And I decided I would try to be a smarty-pants and I said, ‘Of course,’ but I had never seen any of his films. I was aware of his name like you’re aware of names like Atom Egoyan or Ismail Merchant and James Ivory, artsy-fartsy films unlike the things I’m in or write.” And so begins comic actor/screenwriter Thomas Lennon's ("Reno 911!," CBS' "The Odd Couple") amazing story to Business Insider about his single day shooting Terrence... «SFGate» (sfgate.com)

HUANTA, Peru — The front-runner in Peru’s presidential race danced through the streets of this Andean town that her father, former hard-line President Alberto Fujimori, wrested from Shining Path rebels in a bloody conflict two decades ago. Sporting a black felt hat ringed with yellow flowers, Keiko Fujimori won applause on a recent campaign stop at her mention of the “efficiency” with which her father — now disgraced and imprisoned — built schools and defeated the leftist insurgency. “Her father...
