Eden Hazard: I will never be a true goalscorer like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi
Chelsea star Eden Hazard does not believe he will be able to ever match Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi's goalscoring records because he lacks the mentality to score more than 50 goals a season.
Hazard scored 19 goals in all competitions for the Blues last term, which helped Jose Mourinho's side clinch their first Premier League title in five years.
The Belgium international was subsequently rewarded for his impressive performances by being named the PFA Player of the Year, the Football Writers' Association's Footballer of the Year as well as Chelsea's Player of the Year.
Mourinho later said he believed the 24-year-old had had a better season than Ronaldo who, despite winning his second successive Ballon d'Or trophy in January, failed to win any silverware with Real last term.
Although he revealed his desire to want to be on par with Ronaldo and Messi, Hazard said he does not think he can match the duo's impressive goalscoring records.
"I often ask myself what I can do to become like Messi and Ronaldo and score 50 or 60 goals in a season," he told Sport/Foot Magazine.
"I try of course but I realise that I will never be a true scorer. It's not in me. It is mainly mental.
"At 2-0, not thinking that is enough for example. Sometimes I still think after a goal, 'that's enough.'
"I'm not in search of records like some other players - if I can score between 15 and 20 goals each season, I will be very happy.
"I'm at a peak of my career but I want to become even better every day. I'm not there yet."
