Warriors (8-0) at Grizzlies (3-5)
Memphis will assuredly be looking for a little payback against the Warriors, who knocked the Grizzlies out of the Western Conference semifinals last season and embarrassed them 119-69 on Nov. 2.
The Warriors will try to tie the franchise’s best-ever start, a 9-0 beginning by a Philadelphia squad that featured Wilt Chamberlain, Paul Arizin, Guy Rodgers, Tom Gola and Al Attles in 1960-61.
The Warriors are fourth in the league in pace, averaging 104.1 possessions per 48 minutes, and Memphis is 27th, averaging 96.2.
Watching Michigan State alums Draymond Green and Zach Randolph pound on each other and talk trash for the 2½ hours sandwiched between respectful pregame and postgame hugs is worthy of pay-per-view TV.
The Warriors eliminated Memphis in six games in last season’s West semis.
In the Warriors’ four wins, they shot 45.5 percent from three-point range, and in their two losses, they shot 23.1 percent from beyond the arc.
