According to Doug Haller of the Arizona Republic, the Sun Devils “quit” in Salt Lake City, and it happened shortly after the opening tip.
Remember, this is a team that entered Pac-12 play with a 10-3 record.
“We know we need to win both these games to have a winning season” in the Pac-12, Humphrey said.
Humphrey’s Sunnyslope High beat Pickens’ Pinnacle High in a state playoff game.
Both players had scoring explosions last week.
Pickens hit 8 of 10 shots, including 5 of 7 from three-point range, for 25 points in an 84-64 rout of USC.
Humphrey was 12-for-14 for 24 points in a 79-70 win over UCLA.
According to ESPN’s Daily RPI, the Cardinal have played the fifth-toughest schedule in the country.
