Was asked to falsify first document: Ex-secretary

R V S Mani, a former under-secretary in the home ministry who alleged he was tortured by SIT officer Satish Chandra Verma during his examination in connection with the Ishrat Jahan case in 2013, told TOI that he did not give in to pressure to sign a statement saying the first affidavit was “dictated” by senior Intelligence Bureau officers, including Rajendra Kumar, to validate the encounter.
