Gov. John Bel Edwards to address SUNO graduates in May

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards will address graduates of Southern University at New Orleans this spring.

The university, in a news release Wednesday, said Edwards will be the 2016 Commencement speaker on Saturday, May 7, at 4 p.m. in the Lakefront Arena.

SUNO Chancellor Victor Ukpolo (U'-poh-loh) says the university is honored to have Edwards serve as speaker. He says Edwards is an ardent supporter of higher education in Louisiana and believes he will be remembered in history as the 'Education Governor.'
