AFCON 2017: Egypt FA condemns Hector Cuper to defeat Nigeria or face sack
– Hector Cuper has been asked to get needed results against the Super Eagles in Kaduna
– His contract with Egypt stipulates he must qualify the national team for AFCON 2017
– Zambian referee Janny Sikazwe will be in the centre for the first leg in Kaduna
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has mandated coach Hector Cuper to ensure maximum points in the two-legged 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Super Eagles of Nigeria or face sack.

A source close to Completesportsnigeria.com disclosed that the EFA was not impressed with the team’s performance in their warm-up win over Burkina Faso in Alexandria.
“Cuper has been given a two-match ultimatum by the Egyptian Football Association,” the source was quoted.
“He has been told to beat Nigeria and ensure Egypt qualify for Gabon 2017 or face dismissal.
“EFA chiefs were not impressed with the team’s performance against Burkina Faso and have warned Cuper to shape up and pick valuable points in Kaduna and Alexandria, if he hopes to retain his job.”
It was revealed that the coach’s contract with Egypt stipulates that the Pharaohs must qualify for the 2017 AFCON, a tournament they have won a record six times.
Egypt are top of Group G with six points from two games, while Nigeria are second with four points.
However, Zambian referee Janny Sikazwe will be in the centre when the Super Eagles take on the Pharaohs of Egypt in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Day 3 qualifying match at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Friday, March 25. The 37 –year old has been an international referee since 2007.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) also appointed Arsenio Chadreque Marengula from Mozambique as assistant referee 1, while Zambians Romeo Kasengele and Wisdom Chewe will serve as assistant referee 2 and reserve referee respectively.
CAF also named Abbasi Ssendyowa from Uganda as match commissioner for the big Group G game.
For the return leg in Alexandria on Tuesday, March 29, which will kick off at 7pm Egypt time at the Borg el Arab Stadium, veteran South African official Daniel Frazer Bennett will be at the centre.
