Forget Napa or Miami — the fashion set is taking destination weddings to new lengths (or should we say, distances?) by opting to celebrate their nuptials in increasingly exotic, remote locales. Take socialite Sofia Sanchez Barrenechea, who wed runway show producer Alexandre de Betak on a deserted beach in the middle of Patagonia that was accessible only by boat (that’s after flying through Buenos Aires to the faraway city of Bariloche and then driving a few hours to the park). Or M2Malletier designer Melissa Losada, whose wedding to Pablo Bofill D’Huart — son of famed architect Ricardo Bofill — took place on a tiny island off the coast of Spain, also accessible only by boat.
