NFF mourns board member, Modibbo

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has continued to mourn the passing of a member of its executive committee, Hussaini Modibbo who passed away on March 2, following a protracted illness.

Modibbo was elected into the NFF Board alongside other members of the present dispensation on September 30, 2014.
He was the chairman of the Strategic Studies Committee before it was dissolved, alongside other committees, in December 2015. He was also chairman of the Taraba State Football Association.
“We are devastated. Modibbo was one of the most adorable members of the NFF Board because he went about his business quietly and with dignity. Ourselves and the entire Nigerian football family will miss him dearly,” said NFF general secretary Mohammed Sanusi.
The easy-going administrator attended Muhammadu Nya Primary School, the government Secondary School, Yola and Kaduna Polytechnic, where he earned Higher National Diploma in Journalism.

The 63-year-old served as a permanent secretary in the Taraba state Broadcasting Corporation and the Taraba State Ministry of Youth and Sports, before retiring as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Social Welfare and Co-operatives. He was survived by a wife and four children.
The late Modibbo was buried earlier today March 3, according to Islamic rites.

Officials confirmed to thenff.comon that a delegation of NFF chieftains to be led by Shehu Dikko, will be in Jalingo on Saturday March 5 for the final prayers.
