Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan injected himself more forcefully into the bitterly divided politics of the Republican presidential contest, saying that he wanted to unite the party around an agenda heading into the election but wouldn't hesitate to denounce ideas cropping up on the campaign trail that risk damaging the GOP brand.
