BART set ridership record in February amid Super Bowl
Fueled by Super Bowl fever, BART packed more riders onto its crowded trains in February than ever before.
Weekend ridership soared during the 10 days leading to Super Bowl 50, with hundreds of hundreds of thousands of fans attending Super Bowl City and the NFL Experience as well as parties and other festivities in downtown San Francisco.
On Super Bowl eve — Saturday, Feb. 6 — BART smashed its weekend ridership record by about 100,000 with 419,162 trips as fans headed to Super Bowl events, a Metallica concert at AT&T Park and a Golden State Warriors game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
