But Arase dismissed claims by Yunusa’s father that his son has not committed any crime. According to him, Yunusa’s claim of innocence was irrelevant and insisted that he would be prosecuted.
The IGP made this remark at a one-day awareness workshop on sexual and gender based violence in Nigeria, organised by the Nigeria Police, in collaboration with Cleen Foundation and Ford Foundation, in Benin city, Edo state capital.
According to a report on Vanguard, the white hijab dress Ese wore on her arrival in Abuja on Tuesday, March 1, was used in an attempt to cover up her pregnancy.
It was gathered that Ese pregnancy was what motivated IGP Solomon Arase to hand her over to the police gender and child protection unit on arrival in Abuja.
