Jury gets case of veteran accused of being ISIS sympathizer

NEW YORK (AP) — A jury has begun deliberating the fate of a U.S. Air Force veteran charged with trying to join the Islamic State group.

Defense lawyers say the Neptune, New Jersey resident didn't intend to go to Syria to join the Islamic State a month after he lost his job as an aviation mechanic.
