Sharapova losing endorsements after drug revelation
Nike and other sponsors swiftly distanced themselves from Maria Sharapova on Tuesday after the world’s highest-earning female athlete outed herself as a longtime user of a recently banned drug.
Swiss watch brand Tag Heuer and German car company Porsche followed Nike, suspending their support of the five-time Grand Slam winner after she announced on Monday that she failed a drug test for meldonium at the Australian Open in January, days after the substance was banned.
