Delta state government to build monorail in Asaba
The Vanguard reports that the Delta state government has engaged the services of a consultant firm to carry out a feasibility study for the project which is expected to fit into the development master plan of the state.
The state deputy governor, Kingsley Utuaro said that the state government had decided to plan ahead because of the increasing population in Asaba in order to boost transportation.

He reiterated the resolve of the state to sell the IPP project in Oghara, Ethiope West local government area of the state.
On the proposed sale of the IPP in Oghara, the commissioner for energy, Newworld Safugha, said that the state government was looking into the process of completing the sale as recommended by the last administration.
It also approved the appointment of three traditional rulers: HRM Ogiame Ikenwoli as the Olu of Warri Kingdom, HRM Nwaolise Okwuka I as the Obi of Issele-Mkpetime in Aniocha north local government Area and HRM Agbaovwe Afugbeya Oyise II, as the Odion R’Ode of Uwheru kingdom in Ughelli north local government area.

He told newsmen that the people of the kingdom had fulfilled all the traditional rites to install the new Olu, stressing that there were no crises during the coronation ceremonies.
