President Muhammadu Buhari signing the condolence register before the FEC meeting today in Abuja.
The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has attributed the accident that claimed the life of the minister of state for Labour and Productivity, Barrister James Ocholi to over speeding, Vanguard reports.

Disclosing this today March 9, in Abuja, the corps marshal of the FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi told the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the meeting of the body at the presidential villa that Ocholi’s driver, Taiwo Elegede, had no drivers license as his name was not found on the data base of FRSC.
The road safety agency also said apart from the driver’s high speed, failure to use seat belts by the deceased minister and his family members decreased their chances of survival in the crash.
James Ocholi, his son and wife were killed on Sunday, March 6, 57 kilometers away from Kaduna.
FRSC said a rear tyre of the Jeep they were driving in bust, skidded off, and somersaulted several times into the bush.
Ocholi was a key member of the FEC council before his death.
During the meeting today, President Buhari signed the condolence register and a minute’s silence was held in memory of the late SAN.
The late minister will be buried alongside his wife and son, who also lost their lives in the incident, next week Wednesday as announced by the family of the deceased.

Meanwhile, the immediate past president of the Senate, Senator David Mark on Monday, March 7, described the death of minister of state labour and employment Mr. James Ocholi ( SAN), his wife and son as one tragedy to many.
Senator Mark pointed out that late Ocholi was a foremost legal luminary and an administrator per excellence who was determined to bring meaningful development to Nigeria.
