Another protest has rocked Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos following the recent security breach in Lagos and Nigeria in extension.
Earlier in the day, members of Trade Union Congress (TUC) and National Labour Congress (NLC) staged a peaceful protest at the headquarters of the Ikeja Electricity Distributuon Company (IKEDC), Alausa, over the lack of security and the sacking of over 500 of their members by the electricity company.
The protest which is being organized by women under the aegis of Africa Arise For Change (AAFC) are protesting the recent kidnap of 3 school girls in Ikorodu area of Lagos and the ethnic clash involing Hausa community and Yorubas in Mile 12 area of Lagos.
The group condemned the ethnic strife describing it as unfortunate and uncalled for. “We condem the Mile 12 riots in the stogrest of terms possible and we urge all Nigerians to do same. Our thought are with families that lost loved ones and business to the senseless carnage.”
The group also condemn the alleged herdsmen terror act in Agatu area of Benue state just as it condemned the clash between the Shiite sect and the men of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna.

The women urged President Muhammadu Buhari and Lagos state governor, Akinwumi Ambode to strengthen the security situation of the country and state respectively.
