The Latest: NYC cop wounded during drug bust shooting
A New York City plainclothes detective shot in the shoulder may have been hit by friendly fire while he was attempting to arrest a drug suspect who also was wounded.
Police say the officer may have been hit by friendly fire as he and another officer fired four shots at the suspects who were trying to flee in a vehicle.
New York Police Department spokesman Carlos Nieves says on Twitter the officer was shot in the left shoulder and was "conscious, alert and talking."
A police spokesman says a New York City police officer has been shot and two suspects taken into custody.
