Michigan researchers start $9.2M effort to study bacteria

(AP) — University of Michigan researchers have started a $9.2 million effort to combat a bug that can take hold in the gut after antibiotics kill off other bacteria.

The school announced Wednesday a five-year effort funded by a grant from the National Institutes of Health that's part of a broader fight against antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
