Senate backs bill to ease presidential transitions

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate has given final approval to a bill intended to improve presidential transitions.

The Wisconsin Republican heads the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, and he sponsored the bill with the committee's top Democrat, Delaware Sen. Tom Carper.
